About online therapy
How does online therapy work?
During the first Covid lockdown all of my therapy sessions had to switch to video appointments due to social distancing measures. I was really concerned about whether this would be an effective method of treatment and how this would effect my clients.
What surprised me even more, is just how well my clients adapted to this change, I noticed they were more comfortable in sessions, opened up with more ease, and also recovered more quickly from their problems.
Advantages of online therapy
There are lots of benefits to having therapy online. It disrupts your life less, as there is no commute to and from the therapy location. This can be a cause of anxiety for some clients who have busy lives, or are worried about travelling after a difficult session.
Remote therapy means you can have therapy from your favourite chair, with a cup of tea from you favourite mug, and pets are always welcome to attend. The therapy comes to you and meets you were you are at. This can lead to feelings of comforting and safety, which really aid the speed and power of recovery.
